Happy new year! I'm starting off the new year in beautiful Tepoztlán in Morelos, Mexico for the 15th annual Under the Volcano writer's conference and residency, which I am attending on a grant. I had the privilege of working with a faculty including Magda Bogin, Reyna Grande, Paul Muldoon, Luisa Valenzuela, and others.

SP Magazine (Mug Publishing's) 2nd volume is now out in South Korea, featuring photographers Michael Vince Kim, Kim Sperling, Shen Xuezhe, and Dongkeun Lee. The goal of the photo book is to introduce Anglophone readers to photographers with Korean heritage whose work pertains to the Korean peninsula. I wrote the English introduction, which has also been translated into Korean in this bilingual edition.

For his project The New Londoners, Magnum photographer Chris Steele-Perkins is undertaking the ambitious endeavour of photographing one family from every country residing in London in order to highlight the city's cultural and ethnic diversity. The project has already been exhibited at FIX Photo Festival in London, and the resulting photo book will be kept in the British Library's permanent collection. I am co-editing the book and I've been assisting with the research since 2016.

Three of my interviews were listed in the Best Interviews of 2016 According to Our Readers on Something Curated. I did a number of features, profile pieces and covered gallery openings for the site in London and New York.

I collaborated with my spouse Michael Vince Kim on a series of refugee stories for HUCK Magazine #53 – The Change Issue in print and online. For HUCK digital I have also written several articles.
